Following the success of our previous collaboration with West of England P&I Club to raise funds for Feeding Hong Kong over Christmas drinks, we have decided this year to take it up a notch and to coordinate our Second Shipping Food Drive at the same time.

It was all made easy and even more beneficial to FHK thanks to the online food drive on Honestbee.hk, and their pledge to match all food purchased and donated via their website up to HKD50,000 per  month until 31st December.

With the support from Chubb Insurance Hong Kong, Asia Maritime Pacific and Vanmar Shipping, over 3 tons of food, worth HKD42,000 were ordered for FHK via Honestbee !

And we even got a ‘thumb up’ from Mario, Food sourcing manager at FHK, for the evenly spread of orders across all 17 favoured staple food items that will be used to complement FHK’s stocks.

Material food donation did not lag behind though with a total of 209.9 kgs collected from Latitude Brokers, Clyde & Co, Chubb and Telemar Hong Kong.

 

 

In addition, HKD24,000 were raised thanks to the generosity of  C Solutions, Valles Steamship, Holman Fenwick Willan, West of England, Clyde and Co, Chubb and all our friends from the Shipping Industry who joined us on 21st December for festive drinks around the West of England’s Christmas Tree, which will be matched again thanks to Macquarie Group Click for Charity initiative. 

 

So all together, it is over 6 tons of food, that will hit the shelves of FHK’s warehouse and be distributed to people in need in Hong Kong thanks to the Shipping community festive food drive ! A big thank you to all the participating companies and individuals who have helped and contributed to this fantastic effort.
