Further to our blog in December 2015, the Joint War Committee in London has released the latest War Listed Area – JWLA-023 14 June 2018 – applicable to Hull War, Piracy, Terrorism and Related Perils.

The only change has been to delete Jakarta from the Listed Areas, with all other areas remaining the same. Whilst it is customary for underwriters to issue Notices of Cancellation and then automatic reinstatement with the new Areas included, it is likely most markets will wait for renewals to make the change as Jakarta has not been the subject of an Additional Premium for many years.

This change does not affect the BIMCO High Risk Areas detailed in our previous blog of December 2015, which remain in place.
