One week after the reported attacks against 4 vessels in the Gulf of Oman, the Joint War Committee in London has updated the War Listed Areas to JWLA-024 17 May 2019 – applicable to Hull War, Piracy, Terrorism and Related Perils.

The additions to the existing Listed Areas are:

  1. Oman
  2. UAE
  3. Arabian or Persian Gulf West of 58 deg East
  4. Saudi Arabia (Gulf Coast) including transits

Saudi Arabia (excluding transits) was already included in the previous List, but now all trade on the West Coast of the country, including transits, must be declared if JWLA024 are applicable to your War policies.

This change is independent from the update on 1st May 2019 of the High Risk Areas as defined by BIMCO, which reduced the Indian Ocean area.
